Co-founder Lindsay Prime started the tour after realizing that many people were stuck in costly tourist traps, missing the best culinary experiences that Puerto Vallarta had to offer.
“People often ask us ‘where do the locals go to eat?’ We wanted to create an experience for people to learn not only where locals eat, but also the history of the dishes and their importance in Mexican culture,” Lindsay explains, “We love living here and wanted to showcase why: the food, the culture, the families, the history. Originally from Oregon, Lindsay moved to Mexico after completing her MBA at the University of Colorado, and immediately fell in love with the country’s culture, charm, history and cuisine. Co-founder Paul Mayer was born in Mexico City and raised in Miami, another culinary hot-spot. Some of Paul’s most cherished memories are of family get-togethers in the central state of Guanajuato, Mexico. Those weekly Sunday gatherings were punctuated with stories, laughter and, of course, great food!
