2016 Property Taxes Are Due On Your Mexican Property

Dear Homeowners & Property Managers

It is that time of year again and the 2016 property taxes are due on your Mexico properties. Unfortunately, property tax departments throughout Mexico do NOT send out annual tax bills. However, they have become easier to pay for foreign owners with the addition of an online system, anyone with a VISA or Master Card can pay online using the following link:

Remember that if you pay your property taxes before the last day of February you’ll receive a 15% discount while payments during March only have a 5% discount. Make sure to have your Predial account number ready before you log into the online payment center. You can find this on previous years receipts, it is usually a 4 digit number (could be more) found on the top right hand side of your property tax bill in the box that says “Cuenta”. (billings are filed by number, not by name.)

Another reminder for foreign Mexico property owners, or anyone holding Mexican property is your trust, or “Fideicomiso,” payment, make sure to check when your annual trust fee is due.

Should you have any questions on this or any other matter, feel free to contact us at any time.
